They Were CAUGHT ON CAMERA–Reviews! (And, a FREE book!)

Hi there! Today I’m sharing reviews for Lily Harlem’s scorching new M/M serial, CAUGHT ON CAMERA. This five-part romance is erotic and sensual, following a love affair that develops between two porn stars. THIS is an ADULT read.

About the Books:

When Reece Carter is caught on camera canoodling with hunky gardener Cade Davenport, a new, super-sexy opportunity presents itself that he just can’t walk away from.

Reece Carter is working hard and feeling the heat. It’s a scorching hot day and he’s slaving away indoors. But at least he has a nice view from the window—sexy gardener Cade Davenport—no job too big or too small—who is mowing the lawn minus his shirt.

Soon thirst overcomes Reece and he finds himself swimming, kissing and getting frisky in the hot tub with the super-confident, seize-the-moment Cade, whose wit, humour and cocky smile is irresistible.

What Reece doesn’t know is that the walls have ears and the trees have eyes. His every moan, gasp and erotic move is being recorded in fine and shocking detail.

But what does that mean? And what about the intriguing offer Cade puts to him? Shouldn’t he just punch his lights out for filming him without permission? And will Reece’s life ever be the same again after being caught on camera?

My Review:

This series follows two Brit men, Reece–a painter–and Cade–a gardener, as they embark on new careers as porn stars, together.  Reece never suspected what Cade was setting him up for, when Cade suggested a break from the work they were doing at the same country mansion.

Their illicit tryst in the pool/hot tub was a calculated maneuver, but the end result is…love.

Okay, it takes a bit of the long way ’round, but yes, there’s a lot of love to go with the sex. And, there’s a LOT of sex. See, Cade has a plan when he first sees the painter doing a room refresh at the mansion where he also works. Cade knows Tom, the homeowner, makes gay porn movies, well, because Cade has done a couple smaller shoots for his production company. Cade is attracted to Reece and is able to tempt him into some au natural attention–which happens to be recorded by hidden camera. Cade sends Reece a teaser of “their” movie, and, though Reece is mortified, he’s also turned on.

Tom gets a look at their movie and he likes what he sees. He offers Reece some cash for a simple scene, and Reece is swayed not just by the cash, but also by Cade’s insistence on doing the scene with Reece. Reece doesn’t want to read to much into it, but he’s intrigued by Cade’s interest. He’s also quite excited by his scene partner.

Their first scene goes great, and a contract is offered for a feature because Cade and Reece have fantastic chemistry. Each novella in the series is a separate scene for the film and the growing relationship. Expect menage and scripted BDSM fun. Reece tells the whole story, but Cade is especially candid. He likes Reece, a lot, and wants more than just the scripted sex.

Still, once the cameras stop rolling, can these two find room in their lives for a…boyfriend?

Each episode is incendiary, but sensual, too. I latched on to this series from the start and looked forward to each release, but now the whole thing is available and a must-read for lovers of M/M erotic romance. I’m a total sucker for Brit men, and these guys are positively edible. Sweet and sassy, and insatiable and courageous sexually. The ending is perfect, and horribly wrong–because I absolutely didn’t want this book to end!

Now available! SEXY JUST GOT RICH–Reviews, Interview and Excerpt

tourbutton_SJGRHi there! Today I’m sharing reviews for SEXY JUST GOT RICH, a collection of erotic short stories from the best-selling Brit Babes, contemporary erotica authors. This, my friends, is an adult read.

sexyjustgotrichAbout the book:
Billionaires have it all but that doesn’t mean they don’t have to work hard to get what their hearts desire. In this brand new anthology of erotic BDSM stories the Brit Babes offer heroes and heroines who aren’t shy about taking what they want. From farmyards to luxury penthouses, wealth is all about sating needs, connecting souls and taking pleasure to new highs. Whether you’re looking for a coffee break read or something longer to curl up in bed with, you’ll find something to suit your needs in Sexy Just Got Rich.

What our authors think: If you suddenly became rich beyond measure what would your first purchase be?

Lucy Felthouse:
It’d be more of a project than a purchase. I’d have a custom-designed house built in the Peak District. I have tons of very specific requirements, like wanting amazing views, lots of land, a big house with a huge library, a sauna, a home cinema… the list goes on, and on. Like I said… a project! 😉

Natalie Dae:
A boob job.

Kay Jaybee:
I’d buy as much woodland/countryside as I could, so that no one could rip it up and build on it.

K D Grace:
A house big enough for all our kettle bells 😉

Victoria Blisse:
A house looking over the sea at Scarborough, preferably something with a turret but I can always get that added on at a later date if it’s not there. Enough room in it for a library and an office and I want one of those bay windows with a seat so I can sit, looking over the bay, reading.

Tabitha Rayne:
Oooh a holiday for me and all my friends (hey gals?) – possibly a lovely sauna in Holland – I went to one in the summer and it is like a village of pure and utter luxury – ahhhh.

Lily Harlem:
A yacht with private butler and a tap with an endless supply of champagne. Oh, chocolate too, lots of it – calorie free!

Lexie Bay:
A Porsche 911.

Ha, ha! OMG, I can’t even imagine what I’d buy. Probably spend the cash on a big trip for my family. I love to travel!

Excerpt from Wallflower by Victoria Blisse:

I shrugged and looked down to the table. When I looked back up he was beside me, his arm wrapped around my shoulders and his lips by my ear.

“I want to take you, Penny but I need to tell you something first.”

Crazily, I knew what he was going to say before he said it.

“If you come with me, I will be your master. I will expect you to obey my every command.” He paused but I wasn’t sure he wanted a response. It was merely for effect. “If you come with me I will expect obedience but I will give you ecstasy beyond your imagining. You will be mine and I will treasure you. So what do you think?”

What did I think? I was finding it hard to concentrate with his lean, powerful body beside me. His warmth enveloped me, the enticing musk and lime of his aftershave filled my lungs, and his presence overwhelmed me. It was crazy. This gorgeous man was propositioning me, not just suggesting sex but something far kinkier, far darker, far more tempting.

Where did that desire to accept come from? I’d had a few experiences of being playfully slapped or restrained by silly fluffy cuffs and I’d enjoyed them but I’d never thought of anything approaching what Leo was offering me. Like an exotic fruit that sounded at once terrifying and delicious I contemplated his offer and what it meant.

“You can stop it at any moment, Penny. With just one word. Choose a word, any word and if you utter it, I will stop.” His voice was like warm syrup, his breath gentle against my ear tickled. I wasn’t thinking about if I’d accept his offer any more, I was thinking of a word to say to stop it. I’d made my decision.

“Wallflower.”

Leo tipped my chin up with one finger, smiled and pressed that grin to my lips. I surrendered my mouth to his. Thought stopped and instinct took over. I was intoxicated by him. I slid a hand up inside his suit jacket and outlined his lithe frame until my palm rested against his heart which was pounding excitedly. A blast of arousal engulfed me. He could have pushed me back over the table and taken me right there and I wouldn’t have cared about the audience.

However he pulled away, licked his lips and smiled. His smile was electric, I couldn’t resist blasting it back at him. I felt alive and care free.

“Come on then Penny, let’s go.”

My Review:
This anthology of sexy romances has a wide range of stories to appeal to diverse readers. Plus, each story ranges is length from short vignette to novella-length. I also liked the range in heat and type of story.

There’s F/F BDSM, Femdom, vanilla, and the couples range from first-meet to long acquaintance. What is really fun, is seeing so many strong female leads–women who are wealthy and looking for a special someone, and find him, or her, as the case may be. We also had some billionaires in disguise–looking for a partner, and not wanting money to be the magnetic force in the attraction.

I definitely enjoyed the novella from KD Grace with the disenchanted city man who works hard for the farmer’s daughter. And I really enjoyed Lucy Felthouse’s tale of the best-selling erotica author who takes a fan as her sub. Lily Harlem and Lexie Bay had sizzling stories of diddling the help, which were very satisfying. Kay Jaybee’s cat-and-mouse friends-to-lovers story was also great, and the rest ranged through different layers of hotness.

Interested? SEXY JUST GOT RICH is promotionally priced $.99 for a limited time. You can find it on Goodreads, Amazon (US & UK), Barnes & Noble, AllRomance, iTunes, Smashwords and Kobo.

They Connect In a PULSE–Review and Giveaway

Hi there! Today I’m reviewing the second book in a New Adult series from Amity Cross. PULSE is the sequel to BEAT–(click here for my review)–and features two Australian ultimate fighters–Ash and Renee. It’s a sexy, passionate, gritty tale that packs an emotional (and physical) punch!

About the book:
Ren Miller never dreamed her life would turn out quite like this.

On the cusp of qualifying for the brand new woman’s UFC league, she’s finally found the thing that makes her tick. She finally has a whole new life before her, but it’s one that doesn’t include Ash Fuller.

No one has seen or heard from Beat’s Golden Boy in six months, not even Ren. He’s disappeared off the face of the earth and he’s just another person who’s ended up abandoning her when she needed him the most. He broke her heart, but he took the one thing that was hers. Her spirit.

When someone unexpected turns up at Beat with an ultimatum, Ren must make a decision. Go after Ash and her own heart or make her Dad’s dream of winning a Championship come true.

Will Ren choose to fight?
Or sacrifice everything to save the man she loves?
18+ due to mature sexual content

My Review:
Ren has had a rough year. Her mother died, she had to seek out the father who abandoned her at the age of five, for his other family, and he’s not so keen to see her again. Nor is his daughter, Monica. Relegated to closet bedroom at her father’s gym, Ren learns to channel her rage by training in mixed martial arts. She strikes up an uneasy friendship/sex buddy relationship with Ash, the disgraced boxer her father once trained. The more they interact, the more Ren begins to trust that she won’t always be alone.

Banned from the UFC, Ash fights in an underground fight club, and Ren joins him. Well, until Thunder, a title contender, tries to take out Ren. Ash and Thunder both disappeared that night six months ago, leaving a bloody mess of the training gym, and Ren with a broken heart.

In PULSE, Ren is fighting in both the UFC qualifiers, and the underground, needing the brutality of the ring to dull he sense of loss. Then she learns what truly happened between Ash and Thunder, and she’s initially furious. She suspected Ash had killed Thunder, and he’s currently under house arrest, but the story is more complicated.

Thunder is rotten to the core, and there’s only one way Ash and Ren can take him down…in the underground cage fighting championship. Ren and Ash both get the chance to step into the legitimate ring, as UFC fighters, but to do so would scrap their plans for revenge.

It’s a well-told erotic romance, though the romance is a bit back-burnered for the vengeance plot. Thunder makes a perfect villain, antagonizing Ren during her matches, taunting Ash every chance he gets, but he’s not the only problem. Secrets are being kept that could influence the rest of their lives, and no doubt cause a good bit of conflict.

Interested? You can find PULSE on Goodreads, Amazon (US, UK, AU), B&N, iBOOKS.

Also Available

Renee “Ren” Miller was five when her Dad left to go to the shops and never came back.

Left to grow up with a cancer riddled mother, things have never been easy for a teenager who had to be wise beyond her years. Then one day they lose the battle and she’s all alone.

Now twenty-two, Ren reluctantly goes to find her estranged father. He owns the down and out boxing studio, Beat, and Ren finds herself drawn to the ring. She thrives on learning a new way of fighting a life that kept kicking her down…instead of struggling against the current, she kicks it right between the legs.

Then one day, Ash Fuller, her Dad’s star fighter comes back to town. Mysterious, handsome… Dangerous… Everything Ren doesn’t need.

But he’s got other ideas…and so does she.

How about a little taste?

“Would you like a drink?” he asked over the sound of the music.

“I’m okay, unless you want one.”

“No. I drank water after my workout.” He urged her forward. “So shall we go straight into a playroom?”

“If that’s what you want?”

He glanced at his watch. “There should be something going on to satisfy our voyeur plans for the evening.”

They stepped toward the bar.

Kane indicated another doorway at the opposite end that had a chain mail curtain hanging from its frame. “It’s through there.”

“Ah, K. Long time no see.” A man wearing a similar jacket to Kane’s but with only two stars over the breast pocket extended his hand.

He didn’t wear a mask and Imogen could see that his smile was genuine.

“Nate, how have you been?” Kane took his hand and they shook.

“Great, been in the City for a few weeks on business. Making the most of my free time by coming here most nights.” Nate turned to Imogen and raised his eyebrows. “You have company.”

“Don’t look so surprised.” Kane squeezed Imogen a little closer.

“I am. You don’t usually bring guests. Special occasion?”

Imogen felt Kane tense. She sensed he wasn’t enjoying having his break from the ordinary commented on.

“No occasion,” Kane said. “Good to see you, Nate, perhaps we’ll get a chance to catch up later.”

“Yep. That would be cool.” Nate held up what appeared to be a glass of fizzy water and nodded. He kept his attention on Imogen. “Enjoy your evening here at Sub Space. I’m sure Master K will address your every need.”

“Thank you.” Imogen smiled then felt her cheeks heat as Nate swept his gaze down her body—starting at the collar, then lingering on her breasts and finally on her boots.

Kane stepped forward, tugging her with him. “This way.”

After several paces she touched the collar. “This, around my neck,” she said quietly. “What would happen if I wasn’t wearing it?”

“It would make you fair bait for men like Nate, who are just out to play in a scene, find someone to hook up with.” He glanced at her. “He had no right to look at you like that.”

“Well, the outfit kind of screams look at me.”

“That’s not the point.”

“Oh.” She was confused. “It’s not?”

“No. You’re with me. I’ve claimed you with a collar. What’s more, I outrank him. He should show more respect.”

“You outrank him?”

“Of course.” He pulled back the chain curtain and opened a door. He ushered Imogen into the new room.

Imogen opened her mouth and stared around, thoughts of Nate vanishing.

Unexpected Love in THE BONUS–Review

Hi all! Sharing some love for an author whose name may be “new” but her stories have caught my attention. AJ Adams is the pen name of Storm Chase (which is also a pen name!) but this author has some interesting takes on erotic romance. THE BONUS is a newly released adult romance where people find love in the strangest way…

The BonusAbout the book:
Chloe is a seasoned drug courier who finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Facing a lingering and painful death at the hands of the Zetas, Mexico’s most brutal cartel, she persuades their enforcer to claim her.

Has Chloe made a huge mistake, or will her choice prove her salvation – and his?

Warning: This book contains explicit scenes of dubious consent, graphic violence and sex.

My Review:
This story contains graphic descriptions of drug cartel activity, including (but not limited to) torture, rape, kidnapping, PTSD, sex, beatings and mental manipulation. It also has a love story, and an HEA.

Chloe is a drug courier who gets mixed up with a drug cartel in Mexico, quite by mistake. See, she’s just looking to score a little weed, but the guy she hires tries to scam the seller, and Chloe is caught up as an accomplice. She’s been in some pretty tight messes before, sexual slavery, imprisoned in two different countries, routinely beaten, but this time, standing on a melting ice brick in a pool, naked, with a noose about her neck–Chloe knows she’s going to die. So, she jumps.

What happens next is love.

Just kidding!

No, seriously, Chloe manages to get free of her noose and gives the bum’s rush to one of the lurking giants in the compound, Kyle. Kyle is an American national, working with his half-brother Arturo and second in command of this faction of their cartel. Kyle is also a trained assassin, and former CIA torturer. Kyle’s not a soldier for the cartel, he’s a messenger. See, when somebody messes up, tries to double cross Arturo, well, Kyle sends a grisly message to all the other small fry as to why that would be a VERY BAD IDEA. Because Kyle is a very bad man.

But he sees something plucky in Chloe, and Arturo owes him a bonus. He chooses Chloe.

Immediate rescue is great, as far as Chloe is concerned but she was sent on a job by Him, and if she fails, Chloe knows He will beat her, severely. “He” being her handler, a sadist in London who took Chloe in at age 15 and raped, beat and burned her into submission. Then, He turned her into a drug mule, a job she has done faithfully for the past 8 years.

Chloe’s philosophy in a quote:

“Life’s a bitch,’cause if it was a slut, it’d be easy.”

Kyle figures he’ll have a bit of fun with the waifish girl before turning her into a mule for his cartel, but the interest between them grows. This is a connection by convenience for Chloe, she’s never had anyone be nice to her before–at least not without strings. But Kyle is surprisingly gentle. He reads her dream journal, wherein Chloe had chronicled some of His abuse, and through conversation, Kyle begins to recognize what a truly valuable asset his bonus actually is. Plus, she takes excellent care of Kyle, and he relishes her attention.

Of course, He shows up, and Kyle is fast to put Him in his place. Kyle and Chloe do build a strong rapport–but neither knows how to communicate this, having had no experience. There’s some miscommunication, and some loyalty to the extreme, and a gruesome end to Him.

The descriptions are graphic, and may be upsetting. Given the context–a drug cartel, an assassin and an expendable girl–the book is quite sunny. Chloe is able to find the bright side of everything, her countless puns were quite the tension breaker. I enjoyed having the POV of both Kyle and Chloe; it’s clear that this experience changes both of them–for the better.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF (sexy!) COSPLAY–My Review

Hi all! today I want to share my review of a super kinky/sexy novella recently released by Lucy Felthouse. I’ve shared reviews of some of her work before–Pack of Lies, Brit Boys: On Boys and Unconditional Surrender–but A DIFFERENT KIND OF COSPLAY is a fun M/F romp that I zipped through–and seriously considered “gifting” to my own hubby…. 😉

A Different Kind of CosplayAbout the book:

Zachary has a dilemma. His girlfriend, Reese, has a special birthday coming up soon and he has absolutely no clue what to get for her. It doesn’t help that Zach does not share or really understand Reese’s biggest hobby—comic books, superheroes and everything that goes with them. Zach raids Reese’s DVD collection for inspiration, and what he finds there gives him an idea…possibly the best one he’s ever had.

Sure, Reese has fantasized about her favorite superheroes. All those muscles and rakish smiles are to die for. She didn’t think Zach would ever really understand, though. But he proves her wrong in the best way possible.

My Review:
Zach’s girlfriend, Reece, is due to celebrate her 30th birthday and he doesn’t know what to do about it. See, Reece is a doctor, and her schedule is too tight and unpredictable to plan a weekend in Paris, as he would prefer. He wants to get her something totally memorable, and the idea sparks:  Reece loves comics, and she’s a goner for the Avengers. He visits her fave comic shop and that’s when he pieces together a plan–to make a sexy cosplay for his geeky, beautiful, brilliant girlfriend.

Zach orders costumes for Thor, Iron Man, Hawkeye and Captain America, and builds his own Bruce Banner, studying the comic lore for details of each, all in the effort to build an unforgettable seduction for Reece. The birthday surprise? Let’s just say Reece is one satisfied lady.

This is full-on erotica, and full-frontal cosplay. Such a fun, kinky, premise and delish steamy scenes. Reece is charmed by Zach’s gift, and they make some plans to advance this kink….

Loki anyone?

It’s a delicious, sexy erotic novella sure to appeal to folks who like role-play, cosplay, kinky vanilla, and The Avengers.

They Really Are DEVOTED–A Review

Hi there! Today I’m sharing the love for an erotic New Adult romance from Bianca Giovanni. Ever since she REVEALED her Vice, Virtue and Video series I’ve been CAPTURED and DESIRED more; book 4–DEVOTED–was no different. (LOL, all the titles in one sentence! Click for those reviews…)

Devoted (Vice, Virtue, and Video #4)About the book:
James Laird was once devoted to sex, fame, and money…but now this former porn star is devoted to his lifelong best friend turned fiancée, Lola Caraway. He wants nothing more than to give her a dream wedding: white dress, long veil, and a big reception with the whole family. James’ family is the only problem–he’s not sure if he can deliver on that part of the dream. They haven’t exactly been there for him “for better or for worse.” In fact, James’s parents haven’t spoken to him in six years–not since they discovered his double-life as a porn star.

As James and Lola work to build their life together, they discover mending the past could be more difficult than either of them expected. Will devotion be enough to take them one step closer to happily ever after?

My review:
Lola and James have been lifelong friends, and are only recent lovers. Lola is a college graduate, while James is a newly-retired porn star. He’s still a valuable commodity, however, and makes a good income from his sex toys.

Their impulsive Vegas wedding has caused a lot of trouble for their families, however, and they have capitulated to having the whole shebang back home in Wisconsin so the mothers can gush.

The story really builds on the previous books, but it’s still readable as a standalone. There are wedding plans, and new-couple activities like house hunting and building a life together. Lola is still fearful that she won’t be enough for James’ insatiable appetite for sex, though James is over-the-top in love with Lola. On top of these fears are the very real prejudices they know they will suffer with James’ career hanging like a shadow over their lives. As they solidify the wedding plans, it seems a new wrinkle is going to develop, one that’s both terrifying and awesome, and leaves a whole lotta plot for the next book.

Plus, James’ father–who kicked him out and shut down communications six years ago when he learned James was a porn star–is finally getting what has been coming to him. I was glad to see some real resolution in the family strife, and also to watch James and Lola make good choices for their future together.

Plus, lots and lots of smexytimes. James and Lola are so tender and so loving, it’s easy to imagine their fairytale love. And fun! I cracked up so many times. Their first night in their new house is…frantic. I died. Looking forward to James and Lola really stepping into adulthood in the next book. Lots of challenges ahead!

Interested? You can find DEVOTED on Goodreads, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.

This is book FOUR in the series. To get caught up, you can check out my reviews for REVEALED, CAPTURED and DESIRED. The reviews have all the buy-links, as well. Honestly, each book begins and ends cleanly–without cliffhangers only the relationship progressing through the books–so each can be read (mainly) as a standalone. Though, I’ve really enjoyed how this relationship has matured.

Happy Book Birthday to DEVOTED by Bianca Giovanni!

Hi all! It’s election day, here in the fair USA, and I figure if you have made it through the morass of mudslinging political ads and nail-biting races you need a reward…so, how about an erotic romance? Releasing today is DEVOTED, the fourth book in Bianca’s Vice, Virtue and Video series. I’ve read and reviewed the first three books REVEALED, CAPTURED, and DESIRED (click the titles to get those reviews!) and I can tell you, they are heart and heat, in equal measure. Perfect distraction for a contentious election…

Devoted (Vice, Virtue, and Video #4)

About the book:

Vampires and Shifters and Sex Scenes, Oh My! New Releases by Lily Harlem

Hi all! Today I’m featuring two sexy, spooky erotic romances from multi-published, award-winning erotica author, Lily Harlem. I’ve read and reviewed several of Lily’s books (THE GLASS KNOT, THE SILK TIE) so rest assured these tales will keep you warm and snug through the night…sexy dreams optional.

fangsVampires and Shifters Post by Lily Harlem

Thank you for inviting me to hang out today. Halloween always gets me in the mood for the supernatural, I love to be a scared, to be dangling in suspense, thinking “what’s going to happen?”. So when I started writing my two new paranormal novels, Bite Mark and Claw Mark I really got under the skin of my heroine and lived out her fears and confusion when she came across not one but two sexy vampires who have a craving for her rare Bombay Blood.

Bombay Blood – yes, it’s a real blood type and is indeed very rare. You can read more about it here if the science bit yanks your chain! I decided to give my heroine Beatrice this rare blood type to ensure my vampires Aimery and Ryle were drawn to her. But it couldn’t be that simple, could it? No! Beatrice works as a butcher girl, in fact the only butcher girl in the famous London Smithfield Market so her blood scent is masked by death and flesh and animal blood. Ohh… all disgustingly good fun!

London's Smithfield Market

London’s Smithfield Market

I’m not normally into death and murder in my stories but creating a history for the Worshipful Company of the Ancient Order (read ‘organised group of vampires living in central London with the consent of the Queen’) was an interesting challenge for my imagination. I was inspired by tapestry, the Bayeux Tapestry in particular which I visited a few years ago. I love how the age-old scenes are depicted so timelessly and with such precision. I used this as a way to show that the vampires and the wolves (The Carlton Pack) had literally been at each other’s throats for years.

When I reached the end of Bite Mark I realized that I still had more of a tale to tell, (excuse the tale/tail pun!) and that was the wolves. It only seemed fair for them to have their say as they’d had a bad reputation in Bite Mark and at the end of the day, every story has two sides.

shivers and tinglesI hope you’ll check out Bite Mark and Claw Mark and find out how Beatrice gets on with her sexy but dangerous vampires and mysterious, sultry shifters. But be warned, it’s sexy, there’s vampire threeways, man-on-man love, shifters who take what they want and a whip that’s threaded with silver to maximize the burn! Remember, do read Bite Mark first as it ends on a cliff hanger that leads neatly, if a little wildly, into Claw Mark.

Oh, and if you fancy partying with The Brit Babes this Halloween, why not come to our Shivers and Tingles Facebook Party . It’s going to be full of steamy excerpts, sexy pictures, saucy gossip and also a contest or two. We’d love to see you there.

Thank you for reading and have a great day.

Lily x

Many thanks to Lily for dropping by. I know I’ll be hitting the Shivers and Tingles party on FB. I’ve been to some of Lily’s FB parties before, and they are fab! But now on to the books!

Life in London as a butcher girl is hard enough, but when my best friend Denny went missing it became miserable. So stumbling into the Worshipful Company of the Ancient Order while searching for him was like a breath of fresh air. Especially because sexy, sophisticated Aimery promised to help me.

But Aimery’s friend Ryle wanted in on the action. My head was spinning, my body reacting to theirs whenever they were around. But I had questions: What was their obsession with my rare blood type? How did they always appear when I needed them? And how old were they?

Learning the truth about my lovers brought new fears and delights. They could take me higher than I’d ever gone before, show me pleasures I’d never imagined and were prepared to kill to protect me. Being mortal had never been so much erotic fun—or so deliciously dangerous.

My Review:

Beatrice is a normal human woman, working as a the only female butcher in London’s Smithfield Meat Market. She is agonized by the loss of her best friend, Denny–now missing three weeks. One day she sees a man in the market who had previously appeared on the day Denny had disappeared.

Beatrice follows this gentleman through the streets to his home–only to get caught up in a strange new world she never imagined existed. A world of vampires. It seems Bea is a rarity in the human world–her Bombay blood is a delicacy many vampires seek and barely find, as a result of overfeeding centuries before.

Aimery, as the gentleman vampire is called, offers to help Bea find Denny, and as she is leaving his home another vampire, Ryle, arrives. He also senses Bea’s Bombay blood. And wants to share her. It seems that Ryle and Aimery have a history of sharing–when it comes to women with Bombay blood.

In order to protect Bea form open feeding, they become more than just her shadows; and the results are erotically epic. Still, tying up Bea’s loose ends means bending a few Vampire laws–and upsets one High Council member, Elfrida–the only one to have never had Bombay blood. Knowing the threat of Elfrida’s hunger is formidable, Ryle and Aimery hide Bea away…and begin a new life as a triad. Well, for a while anyhow.

Delicious smexytimes and even more delicious Brit-speak make for a yummy read. It’s a short book with a resolved plot, and the promise of a chase in the sequel, CLAW MARK. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Interested in Bite Mark? You can find it on Goodreads, Ellora’s Cave, Amazon US, and Amazon UK.

ClawMarkClaw Mark

This book is a sequel to Bite Mark; to ensure full enjoyment of this book, please read Bite Mark first.

Being married to two sexy vampires is as exciting as it is dangerous. One minute I’m on top of the world, the next I’m running for my life. But it’s okay with Aimery and Ryle at my side—they’ve sworn to love and protect me and keep me satisfied until I’m old and gray.

But when everything crashes down, literally, I can see no way out of the darkness—death my best option. Until two unusual men come bounding to my aid.

Gentle Caleb and prickly Isaac have secrets. They’re full of passion, desire, love and lust and their isolated lives are weaved with mystery. But I know what they are. I’m also craving some serious satisfying, a distraction from my dilemma, and it seems these guys are up for the job.

Will my life always be turbulent, terrifying and tempting beyond belief? Nothing is certain in a world of vampires and shifters.

My Review:

Beatrice is a London butcher with a rare Bombay blood type. Her blood is such a delicacy and so rare that the two vampires who discovered her, Ryle and Aimery, married her immediately to place her under their protection before she was bled dry. Beatrice is ecstatic to be shared by her loving husbands–they are kind and compassionate, and skilled. They always ensure her health by fortifying her with herbal teas which boost her strength and replenish her blood supply. Still, Elfrida, a member of the High Council, wishes to have Bea’s blood–and she has followed our merry trio to their Caribbean retreat in the hopes of isolating Bea for draining.

Aimery and Ryle plan an elaborate escape to the Canadian Rockies, knowing the presence of a large werewolf clan will mask Bea’s scent–and hoping the werewolf threat will keep Elfrida from following.

No Dice. A train wreck separates the lovers, and Bea believes she’s the only survivor–mostly because Elfrida snatched her from the wreckage. On the cusp of death, two wolves startle Elfrida mid-bite and save Bea.

Over the course of a few months, Bea mourns her lost lovers, while languishing in the homey cabin of Isaac and Caleb–a gay pair. What Bea doesn’t understand is how these two men thrive in isolation–especially with all this wolves around!

Okay, she does catch on to Caleb and Isaac’s secret life as wolves eventually–but goes with it as they are keeping Elfrida well away. We get some serious gay voyeurism, and a bit of ménage, not to mention straight lovin’. And, when the climax hits (the book’s climax, people!) Bea finds she has the strength to save her own self–and the lives of men who love her.

This is a super steamy read with a bit of smexytimes for all comers—M/F, M/M, F/M/M, M/F/M. The paranormal elements are fun and consistent. I adored Caleb as much as Bea did, he was so kind and sweet–not to mention fearless. The book ends with a solid resolution, but I could see the series continuing with new plot lines.

Serially Addicted…to Serials–SOCIAL MEDIA and DEBT COLLECTOR–Reviews!

Hi all! Today I want to ramble a bit on some great serials I’ve enjoyed and new ones I’m gearing up to read. I’m a fan of the serial–which I have mentioned before–because I’m a busy gal. I do not always have a week to devote to a book (I’m looking at you, Diana Gabaldon!)

I can generally finish a 300 page paperback in a day or less. Still, I work, and I’m a mom, and a blogger and a writer, and, well, you get it–all this other stuff of life cuts into my reading-time, the one thing that I do only for myself.

So, a novella, or serially-written novel series, allows me to wedge in a bit of escapism between my kid’s practices, or while waiting at the doctor’s office, or on a lunch break. Serials aren’t new, they have been around since the printed word existed. They were most often printed in magazines or newspapers–and some still are. For me they like a TV series–one I don’t have to present for every week at the same time to enjoy.

I’m currently reading two fantastic serials: The six-part SOCIAL MEDIA series by JA HUSS and the nine-part serial, DEBT COLLECTOR: SEASON TWO by Susan Kaye Quinn.

Follow (Social Media, #1)You can check out my review of the first two Social Media episodes HERE. This is a contemporary erotic romance series between moviestar extraordinaire Vaughn Asher and event coordinator with a horrific past, Grace.

Here are my reviews for FOLLOW, LIKE, BLOCK and STATUS. Check them out to see if this serial is for you. I can tell you, I’m eagerly awaiting the next, penultimate, episode: PROFILE.

The fifth episode, PROFILE, drops on Wed Oct 22. As with all the Social Media episodes pre-orders are $.99–which increases to $2.99 after release day. A small aside, pre-orders are so fun! I love waking up and finding a new book waiting in my iPad! 😀

Susan Kaye Quinn’s DEBT COLLECTOR: Season One was one of my fave books last year. Please check out my series-long review. for more info on this future noir, dystopian series. If you haven’t read the first season, however, you can STILL jump into Season Two.

What is IMPORTANT TO KNOW: in this futuristic world a debt collector has unique ability to absorb and harness the life energy of a human. One can draw the energy through any skin-to-skin contact, and drawing energy will shorten the life span of the people they touch. They also have the ability to transfer the life energy they collect to others. In the world of Debt Collectors, they are licensed by the government to draw life energy from dying adults and transfer it (legally) to high-potential peoples who can live longer to solve the world’s problems. Of course, there is HUGE black market for this skill–and lots of rogue debt collectors exist on illegal life energy collections….

Wraith (Debt Collector 10)My Review of WRAITH: Debt Collector Season Two, Episode One:
Alexa Sterling is heiress to Sterling Cybernetics–and she’s not happy. Mostly because her father was murdered, presumably by debt collectors, only three weeks ago. What Alexa’s anti-debt collection crusader father didn’t know? That Alex herself is a debt collector.

Yeah. Alexa has an alter ego as Wraith. She discovered her Debt Collector ability inadvertently, it seems, and it hurt someone close to her. Believing that Debt Collectors killed her father, she is averse to dealing with them. She does have a physical need to transfer life energy–as doing so is a bit of a high and not doing so leads to severe depression.

So, Alexa/Wraith is a bit Robin Hood. She takes energy from people she knows to have gotten life energy pulses illegally, and donates them to sick individuals–giving them the strength to survive their diseases. It’s an admirable use of a deleterious skill, which make Alexa/Wraith an anti-hero of my favorite sort.

The read is intense, picking up in the throes of a life energy hit. Alexa is creative and utilizes her power in the best way she can, but she’s also impetuous, and this leads not only to a bad collection, but also puts her on the radar of a rogue Debt Collector network, Gehanna. She is being recruited against her will–with exposure of her secret life as a Debt Collector in the offing.

So looking forward to the next episode!

WRAITH releases Oct 20th. Now’s your chance to get in at the beginning. Preorders being taken at Amazon and for those people who want to read the WHOLE BOOK ALL AT ONCE, they can pre-order Season Two for release on Dec 15–just in time to rock your Christmas reads!

Please also consider checking out Season One. Every person with whom I’ve shared this book has come back with RAVE reviews. I seriously swooned for the anti-hero, Lirium, as he fought to keep himself free of the mafia and save the lives of terminally ill children. Yeah. I still get melty remembering…

Thanks for popping in my friends, and keep reading!
