Cover Reveal for WILD FOR YOU…Coming soon!

Hi there! Today I’m sharing a cover reveal for a new contemporary cowboy romance from Daisy Prescott. WILD FOR YOU (releasing 9/14) is the third book in her Love With Altitude series, but it’s a standalone romance. I’ve loved her other books, including READY TO FALL, CONFESSIONS OF A REFORMED TOM CAT, ANYTHING BUT LOVE, BETTER LOVE and WANDERLUST, so I’m looking forward to WILD FOR YOU.

About the book:
Cowboy fantasies. Oh boy, do I have them. I blame the shiny belt buckles and those chaps. Mother of pearl buttons, those chaps.

After getting dumped by my Not Future Husband, I’ve decided to spend the summer in Aspen exploring new adventures. First on the list is rugged, sexy rodeo champion Justin Garrison, who seems happy to accept the challenge.

What if I fall in love with the real man behind the fantasy?
__________________________________

Being the charming cowboy is an easy role to play. Whenever I’m on the back of a horse or riding a bull, everything’s simple, uncomplicated. Running my family’s ranch and trying to keep the past buried are a lot harder.

When my path crosses with a beautiful brunette at a rodeo, I’m not looking for more complications. Feisty Zoe Saragossa’s not a typical buckle bunny and I’m definitely not her type.

Can a city girl fall for a real cowboy?

Wild for You is a standalone, slow burn cowboy romance. It’s part of the Love with Altitude series of standalone romantic comedies set in Aspen, high in the Rocky Mountains.

Interested? You can find WILD FOR YOU on Goodreads and pre-order it on iTunes for $.99 in advance of its release 9/14.

Finding Love and WANDERLUST–A Review

Hi there! I’m sharing a review for a contemporary romance from Daisy Prescott. WANDERLUST is a romantic comedy that spans three continents, but it’s previous title, Missionary Position, had some…difficulites. It kept getting mixed in with books about Mother Teresa. Or, more erotica-type books. And this book is neither. It’s a sweet and snarky romance and kept me entertained.

wanderlust-amazonAbout the book:
“A captivating story about life, love, and an exciting and unintentional quest for self-discovery.”
Selah Elmore is a confident, curvy woman who knows exactly who she is and what she wants. Her less-than-stellar love life is another story. Hoping for a fresh start, she leaves her home and job in the Pacific Northwest to spend six months in West Africa.

After accepting an offer from a stranger in an airport bar, Selah’s real adventure begins during a stopover in Amsterdam. Will the daring, mysterious Kai show her what love really is?

Sparks fly on three continents when perpetually single Selah discovers there’s more to love and life than she ever imagined.

Wanderlust is book three in the Modern Love Stories series. It’s a spin-off/standalone from Geoducks Are for Lovers.

My Review:
Dr. Selah Elmore studies depictions of the female form in tribal art. She has a 6-month sabbatical planned in Ghana to study fertility relics in the local museum, and on the way she’s going to the Netherlands for an exhibit opening and auction of more relics–which helps support her research.

While eating sushi ate JFK airport, Selah meets Anita, a beautiful Dutch woman, and they hit it off. Anita insists that Selah look up her brother, Gerhard, when she arrives in the Netherlands, and Selah’s a sex-positive 40ish woman, so she decides to do exactly that. Gerhard turns out to be aligned with the sponsors of the exhibit Selah went to view, and they strike up an acquaintance that sparkles with possibility, but Selah doesn’t push for more–to her chagrin. Still, Gerhard’s contacts span the time after she leaves for Ghana, and Selah relishes every one of those texts.

Getting settled in Ghana isn’t difficult; Selah makes friends easily, but she keeps everyone at surface level–including Gerhard. Well, at least until Gerhard pops in unexpectedly, with a plan to join Selah while he works on some of his micro-financing plans in Africa. There are a lot fo misconceptions/misunderstandings they need to work through, but the super-hot monkey sex Selah had craved back in Europe is now on the table (and the bed and wherever they land) in Ghana.

This is a longer-style romance, as Gerhard and Selah have a few months of time to spend exploring each other, Ghana, and the possibility for a real relationship. Selah is not accustomed to being wanted for more than a fling, and is apprehensive about being hurt by Gerhard–though I didn’t quite get why. She makes a pretty quick jump overboard when Gerhard seems to be willing to make things more permanent–and it’s always Gerhard that’s the pursuer, here. I really liked him, and Selah was funny, but narrow-minded. The end is really sweet, with Gerhard winning her back spectacularly. I totally enjoyed the setting descriptions, and often felt like I was on safari in these exotic (to me) locales.

Cover Re-Reveal for WANDERLUST

wanderlust_dpHi there! I’m helping get the word out on a re-branded contemporary romance from Daisy Prescott. WANDERLUST is a romantic comedy that spans three continents, but it’s previous title, Missionary Position, had some…difficulites, as the author explains.

A Re-introduction from Daisy Prescott:

Hi lovely readers,

The first thing you’re probably asking is if this is a new book. It’s not. It’s the same book but with a new title and cover as Missionary Position.

Why the change?

While the Missionary Position title works for Selah’s love story (and makes us both giggle), it might give readers the wrong idea. Wanderlust is one of my favorite words and better captures the romance between Kai and Selah set on three continents. Because of the sexual implications of the title, MP keeps being put in the erotica dungeon despite being more of a rom com (again, giggles about this from both Selah and me).

Plus, Missionary Position is also the title of a Mother Teresa biography, and well, that’s kind of awkward.

After stewing about this for a few years, I decided to rebrand the book with a new look and title in hopes more people will discover this wonderful book. It’s still one of my favorites. Wanderlust is a love story between an older woman and a younger man set on the West African coast, full of humor and unexpected adventures.

Thanks for reading!

Interested? You can find WANDERLUST (previously titled Missionary Position) on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, and Kobo.  Re-launching on February 20th!

Growing Into A BETTER LOVE–A Review and get a FREE book!

betterlovebtHi there! Today I’m sharing a review for a new contemporary romance from Daisy Prescott. BETTER LOVE is a second-chance romance and is the fourth book in the Wingmen series. I really enjoyed READY TO FALL, CONFESSIONS OF A REFORMED TOM CAT, and ANYTHING BUT LOVE, so couldn’t wait to discover another idyllic Whidbey Island love story.

BL-Prescott-e-cover-RGBAbout the book:
Maybe that old song got it right.
Maybe love can be better the second time around.

When one of my wingmen needs help, I’ll do anything for him, including calling in a favor with the one person I swore I’d never speak to again. Not after I walked away from that life five years ago and ditched the trappings of my success. The keyword being trap.

I left it all behind.
Including her.

Now the ambitious, brilliant, talented, and undeniably beautiful Roslyn Porter is back in my life. I’m not the same person she knew. I’m trying to be a better man.

No man is an island, but Dan Ashland comes close. He’s content with his quiet life on Whidbey, a world away from the rat race on the other side of the ferry. Dan has three great loves in his life: solitude, pizza, and Roslyn Porter.

Better Love is a standalone second chance romance featuring Dan Ashland and the fourth book in the Wingmen series.

My Review:
Dan Ashland is a man haunted by his younger self. He’s in his early forties and living his new dream of owning a well-respected pizza joint on quiet Whidbey Island. In a previous book Eric Kelso, a friend of Dan, became an unfortunate social media sensation, and Dan reached out to his former publicist, Roslyn Porter, to help guide Eric through the maelstrom. Roslyn is the woman who got away–or who Dan left behind in truth–when he eschewed the nuovo riche life he’d fallen into after a lucrative business deal left him inordinately wealthy and spiritually broken.

Reuniting with Roslyn, even incidentally, after several years is a shock to Dan’s hermit-like existence. He’s got a few close friends, and had some casual lovers in the interim, but no one like Roslyn. Not that he expects he can truly court her; she’s still the same driven, workaholic who didn’t accept his ultimatum to quit work and run off with him five years before. However, she’s just as smart, snarky and beautiful as he remembered, and Dan’s driven to catch her eye. Sure, he’s gone silver fox now, but he’s still fit, and interested. Could he convince her to step out of the rat race this time?

I liked how Dan leaped out of his comfort zone again and again, and used his own vulnerability as a guide for Roslyn. She’s a once-bitten, twice-shy kinda gal, not sure about trusting Dan with her heart again. Still, she’s seeing how solitary her own life is, and meeting Dan’s friends on the island allows her to see the new Dan, a man committed to keeping his island an unspoiled haven. Dan’s a patient man, willing to put in the elbow grease in order to re-discover Roslyn, as well. But, he’s not so patient that he doesn’t commit some serious tomfoolery at Tom Cat’s nuptials… Oh baby!

The pacing here was really well-dome, giving Roslyn and Dan time to ensure their feelings were secure, and they were set on building a life together. I liked how it all turned out. There’s a good mix of slow burn, and sexytimes, with a heavy emphasis on wooing with a dash of silliness.

Uncomfortable Truths Might Be ANYTHING BUT LOVE–Review And Get A FREE Book!

AbLblogTourHi there! I’m so excited to share my review for a new contemporary romance from Daisy Prescott. I really enjoyed the first two books in her Wingmen series, READY TO FALL and CONFESSIONS OF A REFORMED TOM CAT, so I couldn’t wait to return to idyllic Whidbey Island in ANYTHING BUT LOVE.

AnythingbutLoveAbout the book:
Another wingman bites the dust in this enemies to lovers story…
For the past year, I’ve been working my butt off to start my own coffee company on Whidbey. A weekend in Cabo with sun, tiny bikinis, and vacation hook-ups is exactly the kind of tension relief I need.

What I don’t need is a bruised jaw, having to bribe my way out of jail, a hellion set on ruining my life, and my mother seeing a picture of my assets on “The Twitter.”

Caribou Caldwell is my worst nightmare.

Unfortunately, she’s also the star of my sexiest dreams.

What happens when a small town guy becomes the focus of a million fantasies? As Erik Kelso navigates his sudden notoriety, will his feelings for Cari turn out to be anything but love?

Anything but Love is the third book in the Wingmen series, a spin off of Modern Love Stories. Like all Wingmen books, it can be read as a standalone romantic comedy.

My Review:
This is the third book in the Wingmen series, but can be enjoyed on its own. Expect cameos from the other MCs Tom and Jon, but this story is all about the youngest Kelso brother.

Erik Kelso is a 28 y/o single, tri-athlete running a coffee business on Whidbey Island, Washington. He lives with his slightly elder brother, Carter, in a house the locals have dubbed the “Phallus Palace” because it’s just the two dudes and Carter isn’t shy with the ladies. Erik actually is. He rarely dates and hooks up even rarely. His life is pretty much Whidbey Joe, training, and taxiing his drunk father home from local hangouts.

Carter and Erik sneak off on a low-budget Cabo vacation and the final night out is a whirlwind. Erik and Carter hit a bar, Erik bumps a gal with a D-Bag boyfriend who proceeds to spark a fight. While sweet-talking the policia is not his specialty, he manages to keep both himself and the D-bag from arrest for a mere $50. The girlfriend isn’t thrilled, even if she’s smoking. Erik can’t believe such a fox would hang with such a loser.

The next day, Erik and Carter go cliff-diving, and Erik takes a dive sans suit. He’s got a tight body from all his training, and he’s not especially shy about it. He’s not quite prepared to have his butt plastered all over the Interwebs, with speculation that those Buns of Glory belong to a popular celeb, however. When the hordes learn they don’t, the chase is on to find out WHO IS THAT GUY!!!

Mortified, Erik does some tracking to find out the source of his shame–none other than the smoking girl from the bar. He tries to legal eagle his way out of the mess, but he can’t; no one can find Caribou, that bar gal who pretty much haunts Erik’s sexy dreams. And when Cari shows up on Whidbey to set the record straight, well, the t-shirts will fly.

Oh, this was a rollicking romp of a romance. It’s really fun because Erik is a near-recluse with phobias that play out in his horror-soaked brain. Like, he’s always thinking someone bad–or even, say, zombies–might attack, and how to survive in the advent of an apocalypse. It did crack me up. He’s painfully shy around women, but talks a big game in front of his dude friends–which was a fun juxtaposition. He’s also very sensual, and when he and Cari do connect, it’s hot. Lots of special attention, and extra orgasms.

In the meantime, he’s fending off the cougars who pretty-much make a game of spotting his butt and posting pics on the ‘net. There’s an exuberant ‘zine gossip columnist who makes it his mission to bag this Hot @ss Guy, and the web posts are a scream.

I liked the enemies-to-lovers angle. I liked Erik’s weirdness and awkward approach to everything. For being an introvert, Erik’s a very approachable character, endearing and sweet. I really connected to his internet infamy and the fear that his mother might find him bared to all. It’s so true that once posted, it’s there forever, and it was really interesting to have a male character react to such a predicament. His constant embarrassment is entertaining to everyone, except him, and yet he’s totally good-natured about it. Still, he does manage to turn his 45 minutes of fame into some new business that helps out his folks and others in the community. He and Caribou have their HEA and the book sets up two more books in the series, for singles Carter and Dan.

As a critique, I had a little trouble getting into the story. The book is written in first person-POV and Erik’s name isn’t mentioned until Chapter FOUR. I kept turning pages, waiting to see who was telling me this story, and that was a pretty long wait. It made it hard for me to connect. Also, Erik’s a little agoraphobic, suffers a little anxiety and a little ADHD, I think. His thoughts zip along faster than my 7 year old on Pixy Stix. Just saying that I had a teeny bit of trouble keeping up at times. Especially when he dipped into his “survival modes.”

I really did enjoy, and look forward to further Wingmen shenanigans.

Happy Book Birthday to CONFESSIONS OF A REFORMED TOM CAT–Review and Giveaway

COARTC FB RD banner
Hi there! Today I’m sharing the release day launch for Daisy Prescott’s Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat!! This steamy contemporary romance is a fun ride through a confirmed bachelor’s eyes—and showcases how his head gets turned by exact right woman. I really enjoyed another of Daisy’s romances, READY TO FALL, and had to grab this one up, too. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway below!

CoaTTC Amazon (1)
About the book:
I, Thomas Clifford Donnely, am a manwhore.

I’ve been told I’m irresistible to women. Like catnip for a different type of pussy-cat. I guess you could call me a Tom Cat.

This is the story about how I lost my wingman, broke all my own rules, and found myself falling in love.

Tom Donnely isn’t the marrying kind, or the dating kind. Even after losing his #1 wingman to love, he doesn’t see the point in relationships. When his sister’s best friend returns to Whidbey Island and propositions Donnely for a one-night stand, he breaks one of his biggest rules—no fooling around with his sisters’ friends. It’s just sex, nothing more. That’s what Tom does and does well.

What happens when “just sex” isn’t enough?

Hailey King is more than a match for Tom’s flirtations. She’s known him most of her life and has heard the rumors about his “skills” for years. When her perfectly planned future falls apart, will the last man she should ever fall for turn out to be more than a one-night stand?

My Review:
Tom Donnely is a self-affirmed bachelor and ladies’ man. He doesn’t do dating or relationships. He’s always ready with a killer smile, witty banter and a Magnum condom. He’s perturbed with his best friend, John, who has found a woman–THE woman–and now Tom has no wingman.

Tom has more than enough money to suit his needs, which are simple. He has a kind and loving family who figures he’ll never settle down, but life changes quickly. His younger sister’s BFF, Hailey, has returned to Whidbey Island, and she’s a far cry from the scarecrow he teased decades ago. Hailey is a strong woman, able to carry her own against the brutes who work in Tom’s family’s shipyard–which Tom respects. He also considers Hailey off-limits due to her friendship with his sis, and the fact that she’s engaged. Until she’s not.

TC teaser protectiveIt’s Hailey who makes the first move, and while Tom doesn’t think it’s the right one, who is he to argue with a single attractive woman? They engage is a friends-with-benefits experience, but it’s clear that both Tom and Hailey are feeling more than friendly. Tom loses a dear relative and Hailey is his comfort, but misunderstandings arise, not the least of which is Hailey’s ex who’s causing upset throughout their tight island community.

tom cat teaser 1.6I really enjoyed Tom. He’s a suave, honest, “manwhore” who revels in his oat-sowing. He’s also respectful and tender to the women he satisfies. Hailey’s only complaint is being Tom’s “friend,” when she really wants so much more. And, surprisingly, Tom does too. It doesn’t take Tom that long, in fact, to recognize how very lonely he is, and how much he desires the more settled life of John; as long as Hailey is the woman with whom he gets to share his life.

Expect drunken hook-ups, hot sex, and a (temporarily) sad, sad Tom Cat, with an HEA all lovers of ‘bad boys’ and beards will enjoy.

Interested? You can find Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat on Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and iBooks.

Also, on sale is READY TO FALL–the story of John, Tom’s BFF, falling for the girl next-door. It’s a delicious mix of love found, lost and found again–featuring a sexy lumberjack! Check out my review…

About the Author:
Before writing bestselling contemporary adult romances, I dreamed of being an author while doing a lot of other things. Antiques dealer, baker, blue ribbon pie-maker, fangirl, freelance writer, gardener, pet mom and wife are a few of the other titles I’ve acquired over the years.

Born and raised in San Diego, I currently live in a real life Stars Hollow in the Boston suburbs with my husband, our dog Hubbell, and an imaginary house goat.

Is He READY TO FALL? Review and Giveaway!

Ready to Fall Banner

Hi there and welcome to my stop on the READY TO FALL blog tour, sponsored by The Novel Tease! Today’s book is a Contemporary Romance by Daisy Prescott and it’s filled with a sexy lumberjack…er, I mean, sexy silvaculturalist.

Ready to Fall CoverAbout the book:
When you fall, you fall hard…

Readers first fell in love with John Day as the hot next-door neighbor in Romantic Comedy Best Seller Geoducks Are for Lovers. Tall, dark, and handsome is an understatement. With the beard, a dog named Babe, and his ever present plaid shirt, John is a modern lumberjack in more ways than one.

Lurking beneath the flannel and beard could be the heart of a romantic. Or is John a wolf in flannel clothing?

After his favorite neighbor rents out her cabin for the winter, John finds himself playing fireman and tour guide to Diane Watson, a beautiful brunette with her own messy past and recent battle scars. When an ex shows up unexpectedly, their lives will be changed forever.

Will he be ready to fall in love? Or will he fall back into his old, flirty ways?

Hold onto your heart… and get ready to fall with John Day as he tells his story in this contemporary romance/romantic comedy told in male POV.

How about a little taste?

I pulled the bike off the road and we ran for the overhang of the store. Standing in the shadows next to the bagged ice freezer on the side of the building, I took off my helmet and brushed the rain from the back of my neck. Diane was dry on her front, but the back of her jacket appeared nearly soaked.

After she took off her helmet and set it on the ground, I gave her a stern look. “See what I mean about not talking about the weather? Around here it can rain when the sun’s out.”

Brushing the water off her jacket, she peered up at me with a sheepish smile. “Sorry. How long do you think we’ll have to wait it out?”

I left the dry safety of the overhang to stare up at the fast moving clouds swirling above us. “Hard to say. Might turn back to being a mist. Might not.”

“Can we ride home in the rain?” she asked, leaning against the wall. Her wet jeans clung to her legs and I found myself staring while she lifted one leg to brace it on the wall.

“Sure. Do we want to? Not really.”

“What should we do?”

I lifted my eyes to her face. Her eyes sparkled same as they did back in the bar. I swept my thumb across my lower lip and then ran it across my chin.

Since our hike at Deception Pass, I couldn’t stop thinking about kissing her. The day she received a letter from the asshole wasn’t the right time. Normally, I didn’t give this much thought to making a move. If I wanted to kiss a woman, I did. As long as she gave me the right signals. Maybe that was part of the problem with Diane. I didn’t know her signals. We flirted, we teased. I caught her staring, but it never moved from thoughts to action. My hand was getting tired of all the time I spent thinking.

There was a time and place for action.

That time and place was now.

“Store’s closed. Nothing to do but stand here and watch the rain fall.” I moved closer to her along the wall, my shoulder brushing hers when I mirrored her posture. My hand dropped between us and brushed against her leg, but I faced the line of water dripping from the roof gutter.

“Nothing?” she asked, her voice more of a whisper.

“Can’t think of anything,” I whispered back while I turned to gaze down at her. “You?”

I could see everything in her eyes. I wasn’t the only one thinking about kissing. When I entwined our fingers, her breath hitched. I broke eye contact and stared down at her mouth. Her lips parted and her tongue peeked out to wet the bottom one.

“John …” Her words faded away when I leaned down.

My review:

First, let me say, I love reading a male POV in romance. It’s so fun to pretend I’m inside a guy’s head.

John Day is a man’s man. He’s big, burly and built. He fishes, and hunts, but prefers fishing. He lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest. He’s rugged. But, he’s kind, and broken-hearted that his mom died years before when she got caught in a snowstorm after visiting him at school. And, he hates that his dad was a cheating husband. Currently, John’s dating Kelly–sister to his high school BFF–but it’s casual because she’s getting a divorce…sort of.

Diane is subletting John’s neighbor’s home on Whidbey Island. This city gal is out of her element, completely, and John steps in to help her out. They decide to build a friendship–neither is emotionally available anyhow–John’s dealing with Kelly’s messy life and Diane’s pretty shattered after discovering her soon-to-be ex’s infidelity. Hence, her cross country escape from NYC.

Diane and John build a cozy friendship–he helps her find a good vehicle and they share some small adventures–then John decides Kelly’s simply using him and cuts her loose. This opens a path to romance between him and Diane, but neither of them will take it–at first. See, John’s convinced that everyone he loves leaves him–and Diane’s lease is up in May.

What would happen if he gave in an actually loved her, then she left? City girls don’t change, and couldn’t be happy with 24/7 island life, right?

Man, does John do a mental number on himself. I was so happy to see him break out of this funk, and give his heart a chance…especially since Diane is a great gal.

These two broken souls do find happiness in each other eventually–and life plans are much less fixed than John had first thought. It’s a solid romance with a compelling lead man and a strong female lead. We don’t get any of her voice, but her spirit is indomitable, nonetheless. It’s a fun read, and I loved the setting. Might need to consider another trip out west, soon… 🙂
