Learning THE PROBLEM WITH HEARTACHE Together–Review and Giveaway

imageHi there! Today I’m sharing a review for a newly released New Adult contemporary romance. THE PROBLEM WITH HEARTACHE is the third book in a series and follows the developing relationship between a girl whose love recently died, and a man who feels responsible for the destruction of his family.

imageAbout the book:
The problem with heartache is that there’s no one-size-fits-all relief package. You can go to classes; you can try to embrace change. But when you wake up at two in the morning, a smile on your face because you’ve dreamt about the could have—the should have—nothing will console you.

Because seconds later, you remember.
And remembering can rip you apart.

Kate will do anything for her family. It’s why she took the job with Lee. It’s why she’s attempting to forget her pain. But it’s hard to forget, when you’re desperate to hold on. Even if Lee Collins is the perfect package.

Lee will do anything for the ones he cares about. It’s why he hired Kate. It’s why he keeps his secrets; and it’s why he cannot, will not fall in love. Not with Kate—not with anyone.

Ever.

The one thing he can’t forgive.
The one thing she can’t forget.

My Review:
Kate is 19, Australian, and suffering depression ever since her boyfriend Lachlan died six months ago. Her parents are struggling financially because her dad suffers from Huntington’s Disease and his physical deterioration is becoming rapid. Kate met Lee several months before when he sang at a benefit for Lachlan’s funeral. There seemed to be a spark, not that Kate could acknowledge it.

Now Lee’s band, Coal, is on tour and Lee has offered Kate a job assisting with their reservations and transit, in the US, for two months. Kate doesn’t want to go–doesn’t want to do much of anything really–but she can’t turn down the money.

Still, she feels awkward around Lee, who makes it clear to his band mates that she’s not to be messed with. Lee and Kate develop a rapport, unwittingly and unwillingly. Lee has some big secrets of bad coincidences that tore his family apart. For this, he feels the need to continually punish himself. And, one of those punishments is to remain single so he never screws up another girl again.

Okay, as far as the book goes, it’s a decent story. I liked all the characters, even if I felt their emotional landscape was a bit extreme. Lee is a good man who tries hard to atone for his failings. He hires people who need a hand up, and won’t accept a hand-out. This is admirable. He’s not a big lush, and stays off the drugs. He plays with young Jay, son of the band’s stylist, Lottie. He is buried in his misery, however–feeling (wrongly) that he broke up his parent’s marriage and wounded his brother beyond repair. Classic case of taking on the world’s problems as one’s own. Still, forgivable.

Kate’s hung up on Lachlan. Really, really, hung up on him–and I didn’t get it because they hadn’t been together long before he died. Still, I can’t really blame another for grief, I just thought it was a little overblown. My issue, though younger readers will probably not have such an issue with it. I did have an issue with Lee’s ‘voice’. He’s supposed to be an American, but, no…sorry. Lee and everybody else in the book sound like Aussies. Their words and their diction, it’s not American English usage. It confused me, as a reader.

Those are my big hang-ups. The book is interesting. Both Lee and Kate get past their grief and find a new start with each other. Gets a little smexy near the end. Would recommend to people who like New Adult.

Sometimes LOVE SURVIVES–Review

lovesurvivesblogtourbannerHi there! Today, I’m sharing my review for LOVE SURVIVES a contemporary New Adult military romance from Jennifer Foor. It’s a rough read…

Love Survives (Love's Suicide, #2)About the book:
Imagine being in love with the same girl since you were ten years old, only to have her fall for your twin instead. This story is rocky.

It will rip you apart and possibly put you back together again.

I know this because it’s my story.

The pain and anguish experienced in this is what it was like to hold onto hope that some day we’d find each other again. I won’t sugar coat the details of what I went through to have her, nor will I apologize for any actions that led me right back into her life.

Sometimes love isn’t enough.

Sometimes it takes a little fate.

My Review:
I didn’t read the first book in this series, and didn’t need to. I struggled with this book, for many, many reasons. Some of it was voice–Brooks tells his story of woo and woe, but he doesn’t sound like a young man. At all.

Part of it was content: I had trouble liking the characters. It seemed there was a lot of deception, which is off-putting to me. Throughout, I felt Brooks was a victim, and though I wanted him to have his HEA, the biggest impediment to getting his HEA was…himself.

Brooks Valentine is hopelessly in love with his next-door neighbor, Katy. She is his first everything. Shame she is also the first everything to his twin brother, Branch.

The whole time Brooks is miserable. His brother knows this, knows he loves Katy, and lies to keep Brooks and Katy apart. His parents know Brooks loves Katy. and, probably Katy knows Brooks loves her, but she listens to Branch’s lies.

Brooks joins the army to get away from them, but he returns home for their wedding. Which gets called off because Brooks fights the fight he should have had years before and he and Katy have their moment of glory…all night long. It’s a pretty brutal affair that leaves Brooks reeling on the verge of an Afghanistan deployment. When he returns home…more drama. More problems keeping Brooks from Katy.

Every time it seemed we’d reach a happy ending, another twist snapped loose and Katy, or Brooks, or both, was on the run. It wasn’t heart-tugging, for me. It was exhausting.

Reconnection While FINDING SLOPE–A Review & Giveaway.

Hi there! Today I’m sharing a review for a New Adult contemporary romance from Erin Brown. FINDING SLOPE is a novella reconnecting characters from her two previous books, TAKING FLIGHT and MAKING HEADLINES. It’s a bit angsty, but real and honest.

Finding Slope CoverAbout the book:

A spring break ski trip turns into the reunion Willa and Dan never saw coming.

After months of not talking, Willa and Dan run into each other at the last place they thought they would—a ski lodge in Colorado. Neither of them expected to see the other during spring break, and certainly never expected to meet their ex’s new college friends.

Dan sees this as his last opportunity to win Willa back and wants to make the most of the week together. He knows that they can make long distance work, and when he hears that they may both be in New York for the summer, he’s more determined than ever to convince the girl of his dreams that they should try to have a relationship again. Third time’s the charm, right?

But Willa isn’t sure if that’s for the best—they broke up for a reason, after all, and if they did get back together, the deck is stacked against them. They’re still going to different colleges, they’re still long distance, and they still have no idea how to make that work.

But then again, when Willa is honest with herself, she knows that she wants to spend time with Dan. That she wants to see where the week in Colorado may take them. That she wants them to end up together. She just isn’t sure how—or even if—that’s supposed to happen.

In this Taking Flight novella, set against the snowy, stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, Willa and Dan have to face the truth about their relationship and decide if they want to run back up that slippery slope together, or go their separate ways.

My Review:

Willa and Dan were high school sweethearts. They lived in different cities, but traveled frequently to visit with their non-custodial parents. They met in O’Hare Airport in Chicago at age 14 and dated over the course of four years.

Willa was mad when she learned Dan had secretly been dating a girl back in his hometown, and–when she didn’t get accepted to a school in NYC, like Dan–she decided to end things.

Now, it’s spring break, and Dan and Willa have encountered each other in Vail. It’s awkward, mostly because both of them are still very interested. Unfortunately, Willa can’t get past the cheating aspect. She and Dan go to schools that are halfway across the country, how could she trust him to be faithful?

Dan’s missed Willa every day since they separated. He’s dated casually, but no girl seems to compare to the one who was his best friend before they became more. Still, his group of friends includes Jacqueline–who had her fickle heart set on Dan.

During their week, Jacqueline wants to make trouble, but Dan handles it well. He also works extra hard to demonstrate his true love for Willa. If only she’d give him another chance.

Spoiler alert: Things work out.

It’s a little angsty, but not out of the ordinary for New Adult. It’s a happy ending for two kids who’ve had little to celebrate in the past. Plus, we get to hang out with the characters from MAKING HEADLINES, and it looks like we are set up for a M/M relationship coming down the pike.

Interested? You can find Finding Slope and all of the Taking Flight novels on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBook Store, Smashwords.

Sometimes Love Leaves You SHAKEN–Review and Giveaway

Shaken BT BannerHi there! Today I’m sharing a review for a contemporary New Adult romance form Alyne Roberts. SHAKEN is a story about two people realizing love was waiting beside them the entire time…

ShakenCover5x8About the book:
“After an earthquake wreaks havoc, the earth is left disturbed and altered. Whatever remains in ruin is left shaken and in need of rebuilding.”

Scarlett Brooks doesn’t need love. The only men she can trust in her life are her twin brother and his two best friends, Logan and Caleb. Every other guy has only let her down, and she promises herself to never to experience heartbreak again.

Logan King can’t stand back and watch his best friend’s twin sister continue to spiral out of control. With random hookups, drunken nights, and reckless decisions, she is on the path to self-destruction. He sets out to slow her down and prove that she isn’t happy with her one-night stands.

The two come dangerously close to crossing lines. Is Scarlett capable of trusting and opening up to love again? Will it ruin their friendship if Logan is the one to teach her how?

This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Characters are introduced in Jolted and Impacted.

My Review:
Scarlett has survived a horrifying break-up…on the verge of marriage her fiancé was arrested for money laundering. Not trusting herself with another real relationship, she seeks thrills from any man who’ll bed her. Her dear friend, Logan, who is best friends with Scarlett’s twin brother Ryder, is tired of her self-destructive behavior.

Logan is the man Scarlett calls when she’s too drunk to drive home from her hook-ups, but he’s going to fix his girl’s broken spirit–even if it kills their friendship. He gets Scarlett to agree to an abstinence game, so she’ll stop prowling. Then, he works out several tasks for her to complete, all designed to bolster her confidence and open her up to the possibility of love.

Shaken Teaser Standing ByThing is, once Scarlett’s heart is open, it’s impossible for Logan not to fall directly into it. Of course, there’s a strange girl lurking on the fringes and Logan’s past seems to catch up at just the wrong time. Likewise, Scarlett has some intense family issues to survive, and Logan’s game is getting too deep.

This a dual viewpoint contemporary romance about two people who have been wounded in life and love finding the courage to love with abandon. It’s a quick read, with a satisfying HEA.

Interested? You can find SHAKEN on Goodreads, Amazon, iBooks, B&N, Kobo, Google Play, Smashwords.

Her Life is TEQUILA & TEA BAGS–Review and Giveaway

Facebook Cover PhotoHi all! Today I’m sharing in the blitz for a quirky contemporary New Adult romance. Laura Barnard’s TEQUILA & TEA BAGS is a hoot sure to be enjoyed by lovers of Bridget Jones… This is ADULT read.

Tequila and Tea BagsAbout the Book:

Sent to live with her cousin Elsie in the Yorkshire countryside, Rose has only one thing on her mind; joining her friends as a club rep in Mexico.

When she hears about a council incentive offering the promise of free flights to the person who clocks the most volunteering hours at the local care home, she’s got her plan set.
But she doesn’t plan on bonding with the old ladies, going after the village bad boy and trying to persuade Elsie not to become a Nun.

Soon she’s questioning who her real friends are and whether her old life is one she wants to return to.

Can the village win her over and will she win the chance to leave it behind? Will she even want to?

Teaser-2

My Review:

Well! I do love me a funny romance, and Bridget Jones is a go-to for my feel good times, so I was destined to enjoy this!

23 y/o Rose is given a serious wake-up call when her parents cut off all her allowance and force her to move from the London suburbs to a hamlet in the Yorkshire countryside. She’s now sharing a flat with her cousin Elsie–who is trianing to become a nun.

This party girl is bereft, until she learns that volunteering in the local retirement home will garner the chance at a holiday. Her BFF is currently in Mexico, and Rose is desperate to join her. Naturally, the center’s director–the infuriating, yet good-looking Will–is an impediment.

Rose finds trouble without even trying–by basically lying about her skills. Barmaid? Sure! (Cue the beer flood) Horse-minding? No problem! (OMG–even Bridget never caused this kind of havoc!)

Along the way, Rose becomes the shag-buddy of Will’s younger (disreputable) brother James. through the month of Rose’s visit, she and Will get to know each other very well. Much like BJ, Rose is involved in a love triangle she never intended, but I think we can all guess this girl has a whole lot of hilarious self-discovery in her future. And, a good-looking, compassionate man at her side!

The book moves quickly and is peppered with interesting side characters. I loved how Rose and one of the retirees, Betty, bonded. They had a far better relationship than even Rose and her parents. It’s fun to see a character grow when loved and respected, instead of pitied and reviled.

Interested?  You can find Tequila & Tea Bags on Goodreads and Amazon (US and UK).

UNMAKING MARCHANT Requires Love–A Review, and a FREE BOOK!

Hi there! Today I’m sharing a review for a sexy New Adult romance from best-selling author Ella James. I read the first book in this series, SELLING SCARLETT, which features a strong independent woman selling her “carnal treasure” to help a friend in dire need. It was a steamer I enjoyed, so I thought I’d give the latest Love Inc book a look-see. UNMAKING MARCHANT has a story built on the power of addiction and mental illness.

Unmaking Marchant (Love Inc., #3)About the book:

Marchant Radcliffe, owner of the exclusive Love Inc. brothel, is no stranger to darkness. He lost his parents in a plane crash and since college has harbored a secret almost too terrible to bear. He keeps his head above water by pouring his energy into his business—and he’s thrived, despite the dark blot on his soul.

Then, after ten years of good fortune, Marchant’s skeletons start to peek out of the closet, tossing him down a trail of ruin that begins with arson and could end with murder. Because he’s kept his struggles private, he has no one to pull him back from the brink.

After a breakup with her longtime fiancé, Suri Dalton, daughter of one of Silicon Valley’s tech tycoons, has nowhere to go except her BFF’s new penthouse in Las Vegas. The last thing Suri is looking for is a man, but after drowning her woes in wine on the flight over, she stumbles into a torrid make out session with a beautiful stranger—who just so happens to be Marchant Radcliffe, playboy and literal pimp.

Despite an immediate attraction, Suri writes Marchant off as exactly the sort of guy she should avoid. Until Love Inc. goes up in flames, Marchant winds up at the bottom of a swimming pool, and Suri is the only one around to pull him out.

What happens when what you see isn’t what you get? What do you do when destiny is too alluring to resist and too dangerous to survive?

My Review:

This was an interesting steamy read. Suri is a smart woman engaged to an abusive alcoholic, Adam. He’s the only man she’s ever been with–they are high school sweethearts, but Adam’s continued alcoholism is a major stumbling block to their relationship. One night he’s way-too-handsy and ends up hurting Suri–which sends Suri from her Napa estate to Vegas to meet up with her BFF, Lizzy.

Lizzy is engaged to a billionaire, and has friends in quite low places: particularly a high-class brothel, owned by Marchant. Suri’s woefully prudish, perhaps, but she’s not interested in anything to do with a pimp. Well, at least not until Marchant ends up (inadvertently) saving her from an assailant and they have a brief tryst–Suri’s first-ever anonymous hook-up. She’s rather mortified to discover Mr. Love Inc is the sex-god who drew out her elusive orgasm like a bee finds pollen.

Still, there’s something vulnerable about Marchant, and Suri’s the Patron Saint of Lost Men, or something. She can tell Marchant is messed up, but she thinks he’s on drugs (Spoiler: yep) but that’s only a small part of the story. He suffers bipolar disorder and is on a mania high when they first meet, which later collapses into suicidal depression.

So, Marchant saved her, and she returns the favor. These two have a magnetic attraction–even before Marchant seeks treatment for his illness. He blames himself for ruining a good woman years before and doesn’t want Suri (or any woman) to get her heart broken. Guess what, Marchant? YOU are not the boss of WOMANKIND. We will have a broken heart if we WANT one, dangit!

Expect sex. Lots of it. Expect some brief domestic violence, and some drawn-out mania and many many bad decisions. It takes Marchant a LONG time to reveal his dark secret, but the end comes quickly after that–though this book ends with a cliffhanger.

Interested? You can find UNMAKING MARCHANT on Goodreads, Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

You can grab the first book in this series, SELLING SCARLETT for FREE on Amazon, and Barnes & Noble. Like MARCHANT, this is an ADULT read. Click here for my review.

This story introduces Lizzy, Cross and Suri. Lizzy attempts to sell her virginity in order to raise money to pay for Cross’ medical care after his parents cut him off and he’s injured in a bike crash. (There’s an argument for universal healthcare in this premise, methinks!)

A Socialite Becomes THE ACCIDENTAL NEW YORKER–Review and Giveaway

Hi there! Today I’m sharing a review for Stephanie Wahlstrom’s THE ACCIDENTAL NEW YORKER. This New Adult romance is a charming sequel to THE ACCIDENTAL SOCIALITE, following this intrepid Paige Crawford across the pond to NYC, and still not quite home…

About the Book:
Paige Crawford, former accidental socialite, has managed to shed her Z-list celebrity status and pull her life into a semblance of normalcy. But more importantly, she’s close to proving to her family and herself that she can make it on her own. That is, until she’s fired from her job and left with no choice but to leave London behind for good.

She hops on a plane headed home to Canada, only to decide to give herself one more chance to make it before hers becomes a life of “I told you so’s.” So instead of walking onto her connecting flight, she leaves JFK Airport and steps into the wilds of New York City, where she soon learns her misadventures have only just begun.

And while she juggles writing a popular blog, locating a missing male model, and a sexy new boss who reminds her a little too much of home, Paige is about to learn that “making it” has nothing to do with where you end up, but everything to do with how you get there.

Excerpt:

Just as I was stuffing a large nacho in my mouth, Kelly decided it would be a good time to engage me in conversation.

“So, what’s your plan? Tyler said something about trying to work for a Canadian magazine?”

I nodded and swallowed the chip that I definitely hadn’t chewed enough. I was pretty sure my larynx was bleeding. “Hopefully. {cough} I had some responses today, people asking for work samples and stuff. Fingers crossed.” I smiled and had a sip of margarita, which stung the gash in my throat.

“Cassie is a journalist, maybe she can help you?” offered Kelly.

Cassie looked embarrassed. “I’m a reporter for The Telegraph Online, it’s not print, but I can see if there is anything.”

“That would be amazing.”
People who said New Yorkers were mean obviously hadn’t been to the same New York as I had. But, then I remembered that I needed a dollar tomorrow to make sure Stabby McStabberson outside my apartment didn’t cut me tomorrow.

My Review:
Paige Crawford is all about serendipity. She is impetuous and spontaneous and always looking at life in a “glass half full” sort of way. She stumbled into a journalist job, quite literally, while staying in London, and now that she’s let go, she has to return to Canada. But, en route to Edmonton, she gets a happy curve ball.

Paige meets the attractive Tyler Shaw on her trans-Atlantic flight. Tyler happens to be rather wealthy, and he is enchanted by Paige’s self-deprecating stories of her time in London. She also wins bonus points for not approaching him like a gold digger, and Tyler invites Paige to look him up up if she stays in NYC. It’s a sign, Paige is certain.

She decides to extend her two-hour layover…indefinitely. This savvy traveler lands a room in an apartment in Spanish Harlem and sets down some immediate roots by way of an air mattress and a blog detailing her 182 days as an “Accidental Immigrant”. Paige and Tyler connect and have some laughs, pretty much the same life as her previous London one–hitting odd clubs and enjoying inebriated shenanigans.

Thing is, as the days dwindle and Paige’s prospects for a visa dry up one by one, she has some tough choices to make regarding her future. Can she convince a man to marry her? Could she PAY a man to marry her? Is living in NYC, ultimately, the life she wants? It’s a fun romp with some deep soul-searching and a bit of heartbreak. Don’t expect any steamy scenes, but Paige is a fun MC and her life is just outrageous enough to be entertaining.

Interested? You can find THE ACCIDENTAL NEW YORKER on Goodreads, Amazon (US, and UK).

TELL ME A SECRET–Blitz and Giveaway!

Hi there! Today I’m sharing in the book blitz for Ann Everett’s New Adult romance, TELL ME A SECRET. It’s a flirty romance with plenty of poignant banter.

About the book:
Jace Sloan has it all. He’s smoking hot, a college football star with a storybook family, and he’s never met a woman he couldn’t charm. He’s also never met one who makes him want to be a better man…until he meets Maggie. Now, this self-proclaimed geek with wild red hair and the greenest eyes he’s ever seen has him thinking all kinds of crazy thoughts. Like settling down and being a one-woman man.

Maggie Fielding is anything but Jace’s type. For starters, her IQ is bigger than her chest size. But Jace is panty melting hot, and she’s having a hard time remembering that he’s bad news. If only she could stop telling him her secrets, because her answers to his questions just might have both of them falling in love for the first time.

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png
How about a little taste?
“Why do you do it?”
“Do what?”
“Go from girl to girl. My mother was promiscuous because she tried to make up for everything wrong in her life—no relationship with her family, a kid she didn’t want. But you have the most wonderful family in the world. And you have friends—and talent. I don’t understand what you’re trying to compensate for.”
He didn’t say anything, so she said, “You don’t have to answer. I shouldn’t have asked. I just finished telling you to stay out of my business and now I’m butting into yours.”
“It isn’t that I don’t want to answer. It’s—I don’t know the answer. Maybe it’s evolutionary psychology. You know, spill your seeds and all that crap.”
“You’re kidding, right? That theory has to do with finding the best candidate for breeding to produce the best offspring. It isn’t an excuse to screw every female in Texas. Unless you’re saying you want to impregnate women to create a bunch of little football All-American’s?”
“Hell, no. My policy is no glove, no love. I’m saying, could be, men aren’t supposed to be monogamous.”
“You’re speaking for your entire gender?”
“Yeah.”
“So—your dad could have women on the side and that would be okay.”
“No! All right, you’ve made your point. Some men can be happy with one woman.”
“But not you.”
He rolled up on his elbow and rested his face in his hand. “I don’t know how to say this without sounding like a complete jerk. I guess I do it because I can. From the time I was in junior high, girls have thrown themselves at me and all I’ve done is take advantage of it. I’ve never lied to get a girl to sleep with me. I’ve never told one I loved her or promised forever. I don’t even spend the night. They know what to expect from me.” He flopped back down. “Maybe I’ve slept with more than my share, but I don’t consider myself a bad guy. Do you?”
“Does it matter what I think?”
“Yeah.”
“Well then, I think you’re just as emotionally unavailable as I am. I avoid men because I’m afraid I’ll lose my heart, and you go from girl to girl to keep from giving yours away.”

Hi there! I’m sharing the LOVE for a New Adult series from Briana Gaitan. The Hollywood Timelines series books are contemporary romances with broken characters who heal themselves, and each other

The Last ThingAbout THE LAST THING:
Plagued by past mistakes in both love and life, Quinn Bardot is in a bad place. With nowhere else to turn, she escapes to LA clinging to the promise of a fresh start.

Chase Crowley is known for being selfish and unbelievably persistent. All he’s ever wanted is to become a successful actor. But now that he is about to have it all, he finds that something is still missing. Money and fame isn’t what he expected.

After a fervent encounter, the two of them are thrown into a situation that neither is prepared for. Can Quinn extinguish her fears and let Chase in? Can Chase learn to put someone else’s needs before his own?

The Last Thing is a novel all about love, Hollywood, and accepting what life throws at you even if it is the last thing you want.
(This is a New Adult Romance novel & contains language & adult situations. Not recommended for readers younger than 17)
***The Last Thing is a stand alone book with NO cliff hanger ending. It is book one in the series.***

My Review:
Quinn suffers depression. When she was young she dated a manic-depressive, Bash, who was the star quarterback of their high school. He was extremely dependent upon Quinn, and suffered more and more depressive events when he went to college–away from her. She did the best she could to visit, but Bash became worse, and worse. Then, one night when she collected him for a home trip they fought, and the car went over a bridge. Quinn survived, and Bash did not. Quinn carries this guilt, and she’s leaving her home town to stay with her cousin Ginger in LA to avoid the hateful people who believe she should have died instead of Bash–including Quinn’s own parents.

Her first night in town, Ginger takes Quinn to a party of fellow actors where she meets Chase. Chase is a rising star in Hollywood, and loves Quinn’s off-attitude, and the challenge of meeting a woman who isn’t actually interested in his fame or contacts. They hit it, hard, each looking for a night of comfort.

This turns out to be a problem three weeks later. A problem of the “two pink line” sort. Chase doesn’t know what to make of this situation. He’d called Quinn many times, with no replies, only to learn she’s prego? Sounds like a set-up. The more he investigates, the more he learns and likes Quinn, however. And, the more he wants to make a go of it. On the flip-side, Quinn wants no part of fame. She wants no part of the constantly catty starlets who hound Chase, and are willing to sell any story to push their agendas.

It’s a solid New Adult romance, with added drama from the Hollywood set. Quinn learns to trust Chase, and to face the memories of her time with Bash–to reassess her role in Bash’s disease and see this new relationship as more healthy. Chase learns that chasing women isn’t the most fulfilling enterprise, and having one woman to love, who also loves you, is a valuable commodity in Tinsel Town. One worth cherishing.

The One Thing (Hollywood Timelines #2)About THE ONE THING:
When everything falls apart, he’s the one thing that holds me together.
Ginger Teague may seem like your typical Hollywood actress with the famous boyfriend, designer clothes, money, and hit TV show, but constantly being in the public eye has its downside.

People seem more interested in her chaotic relationship with her on again/ off again boyfriend than her acting career, and Ginger isn’t dealing with her new found fame in a way she always envisioned. She masks her unhappiness with too many parties and an unhealthy habit of binge drinking. As much as she wants love, men find her as a pretty amusement, not the type of girl you take home to mom and dad.

When she meets Caspian Norwood, they quickly begin a regimen of flirty emails. He’s a struggling musician that doesn’t quite fit her idea of the perfect boyfriend. He’s older, mysterious, cultured, knows exactly what to say and do in all the right situations, and Ginger can’t help falling for him. But the world is against them, pushing them apart, and it’s beginning to feel as if they are only meant to be friends.

I have yet to read this one, but I’m anxious to dive in. Ginger’s got a pretty hard deal going with her crappy BF–who does’t want her exclusively, but won’t let her wander either–and I want to see her kick that dude to the curb. For real! She deserves far better, and I hope that Caspian is a forever guy.
